In this paper (to be extended in the final version) we account for the advantages, challenges and pitfalls that we have encountered when compiling language technology (LT) resources based on dictionary information and vice versa. We describe the main lines in our collaborate work during the last decade and based on this experience, we provide some suggestions and recommendations in order for dictionaries to become more standardised and multifunctional and thereby also more directly useful for LT.
