Abstract The exchange and cooperation between China and southeast Asia is an important part of the maritime silk road in One Belt And One Road. Language communication is a prerequisite for exchange and cooperation。 There are 9 major official languages in the ten countries of Southeast Asia。In addition to English, other languages include Vietnamese, Thai, Malay, Indonesian, Laos, Burmese, Kampuchea, and Philippines. They belong to the south island family, the south Asian language family and the sino-tibetan language family. The premise of Southeast Asian language resources construction and Machine Translation is to understand the languages of Southeast Asia. As a part of learning the basic knowledge of the Southeast Asian language, this paper introduces the characteristics of Southeast Asian languages and Their Influence on Translation.
